20 Most Sexiest Perfumes For Your Date

The 20 Sexiest Tried-And-True Perfumes That You Need To Pick Up For Date Night

Perfume is one of those wonderful beauty products that takes very little effort, but has a huge impact on how people see and remember you. When you have a signature scent, it’s a way of announcing yourself before even walking into the room. But then there’s your sexiest perfume–the fragrance that you wear when you want to feel like yourself, but hotter.
sexy perfume

It’s the one you put on your neck when you’re sure you want it to be kissed, or dabbed on your décolletage when you want to feel beautiful while out dancing, or just spritzed in the air when you’re home sipping wine and eating dark chocolate while reading a book in your best lingerie. (If you have never done this, I strongly recommend you do sometime; it is like taking an elegant time-traveling vacation at home.) It’s what people miss about you when you’re away and what is left on your partner’s pillow after you’re gone.
If you’re in search of the sexiest scents around, these are the tried-and-true ones our editors, readers, and writers recommend.
Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb
Multiple readers named this scent as their favorite, including Nicole, who said it’s the “most seductive, sexy scent ever.” Commenter Amber agreed, adding:
Flowerbomb is also my favorite. It’s floral but also vanilla-y. It’s so great. Also my husband loves it and puts his face in my neck every time I put it on, which definitely ups the sexy factor.
Fun story: last holiday season, I was walking through Macy’s and saw a dispenser of Flowerbomb. It looked like a lotion dispenser, so I assumed it was for sampling the scent’s lotion version; I was wrong. I dumped Flowerbomb all over my hands to the point that it was difficult to be in the same room as me no matter how many times I scrubbed with with hand soap. Totally not embarrassing at all. But hey, on the bright side, it was at least a nice scent!
TokyoMilk La Vie La Mort No 90
TokyoMilk, makers of one of my favorite lip balms (Clove Cigarette), creates some of the most unique and sensuous scents on the market, such as this romantic floral one recommended by reader Elizabeth. Plus, with the 1.6 oz. bottle priced at just $36, it’s one of the least expensive high-quality products out there.
Coco by Chanel
This scent will always be one of those classics that you instantly recognize when somebody walks by you wearing it (literally, that happened this past weekend in a liquor store and I instinctively said aloud, “Oh, hello Coco” which was not at all strange, I’m sure). Reader Veronica explained her obsession with how it made her feel:
I bought it on a whim after a breakup when I was 19 and it seriously helped me feel like a strong, sexy woman. Not a girl. A woman. I get compliments on it all the time. It helps that the sillage is strong and even one spritz can be detected for hours. Years later, I read The Bombshell Manual of Style. It mentioned Coco as a scent appropriate for Bombshells. “Coco is for brunette bombshells with big personalities.” Yes, exactly that.
Perfect.
voyage dhermes
This “radiant and soft fragrance” was recommended to us by reader Abenaa, who describes it like this:
It’s unisex, smells peppery and woodsy, but not heavy (the description calls it a fresh woody, amber scent). I think it’s the fact that it’s neither feminine nor masculine that makes it feel so sexy to me. Something about it also makes me feel a little badass. Always a plus.
This particular scent is so beloved, it also comes in several other forms: shower gel, body lotion, deodorant stick, deodorant spray, and moisturizing face and body balm. If you’re obsessed, you can really go crazy with it.
Terre d'Hermes
In addition to the above Hermès scent, commenter JennyWren had another to tell us about that’s perfect for women who prefer a more traditionally androgynous scent:
I love all the Hermes scents, but especially their unisex ones. Terre d’Hermes smells amazing on everyone I’ve ever smelt it on.
If you’re not down with the typical floral or warm scents marketed more specifically towards females, this could be your golden ticket.
Stella by Stella McCartney perfume
Searching for a sexy, sophisticated, and feminine scent? This might be the best one for you, according to commenter arale:
It’s a great solifore and I promise you it won’t smell like your grandma’s rose perfume. Been using it since 2006 and never looked back because every guy that I’ve ever been with LOVES this perfume. Heck, even my younger brothers said it’s waaaay to seductive to wear for family get together. For me it’s the equivalent of wearing crotchless panties under a very demure, well tailored dress (or under lace kebaya and beautiful silk sarong because I’m Indonesian and that’s what we wear for formal events)
I’m pretty sure “the equivalent of wearing crotchless panties under a demure dress” is my new favorite measure of sexy perfumes. A+.
Gucci Guilty Perfume
Conspicuous as its name is, it’s hard to deny that this scent automatically brings to mind sex, sex, and more sex. Nicole describes it like this:
Gucci Guilty is downright sinful it’s so damn hot, but it’s for a woman who can walk into a room and own it.
Put on your finest lingerie, play some Tensnake, and walk into the room with confidence–voila! You just won every sexiness award ever.
Fendi Palazzo Parfum
This scent has a lot of important names behind it; it was created by Francois Demachy with “participation from” Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Fendi. Basically, it’s as fancy as it gets, so it makes sense that reader emily s. saves it for particular evenings:
I still have a bottle of Fendi Palazzo that I wear on special dates. I <3 really heady, musky scents and that one’s my favorite.
Karl would approve, and that’s enough for me.
Guerlaiun La Petite Robe Noire
Everything about reader Gabriela Acevedo‘s pick for the sexiest perfume–right down to its pretty little bottle–is seductive.
Lola by Marc Jacobs
I won’t lie, this bouquet bottle gets me every time. It was named by reader Katie, though there has been mild controversy in her life regarding its actual appeal:
I loved Lola by Marc Jacobs until (after over a year) my bf said he thought it made me smell like an old lady. I don’t know what old ladies he’s been sniffing…
Fancy, bright old ladies, surely.
